Birch Sap Collection Bags & Traceability: One Bag, One Code from Forest to Consumer
QC Packaging has served the birch sap industry since 2020, when we delivered the sector's first customized collection bag. Years of continuous R&D have built a portfolio protected by four national patents, and today we supply professional solutions and supporting products to more than 50 birch sap collection and processing companies, holding a leading market share in collection bags.
From forest collection and low-temperature storage to consumer-facing traceability, we deliver a full-chain solution — patented collection bags, sterile storage bags and a traceability system — as the birch sap industry's collection-and-traceability solution provider.

The workhorse of forest collection: available in 330×450 mm and 360×450 mm, with a sealed self-closing structure and a matching collection needle to cut leakage and contamination during collection. Patent: sealed self-closing birch sap collection bag with collection needle (ZL 202422526573.X). Made with the Qihua-3 birch sap collection film.
330×450 mm, using sterile processing and a soft-plug gas barrier for collection scenarios with higher cleanliness requirements. Patent: sealed birch sap collection device (ZL 2024 2 0726594.3). Also made with the Qihua-3 film.
A dedicated film engineered for forest conditions: puncture-resistant and non-brittle at sub-zero temperatures. Both the Gen-2 and Gen-3 collection bags use it, solving bag breakage and sap loss at the material level.
2.5 L to 1000 L (25 L and 220 L are standard industrial sizes), with a dedicated ultra-pure, non-migrating inner layer that preserves the natural flavor of birch sap. Keeps freshness for 12+ months through storage and transport.
One bag, one code — full-chain traceability from collection to consumer: every collection bag carries a unique code from the factory; collection data travels with the material and connects to government supervision. Consumers scan the Sun Code on the package with WeChat to view traceability information.

FAQ
What if bags break or leak during collection?
Most breakage comes from branch punctures and low-temperature embrittlement in the forest. The Qihua-3 film was engineered exactly for this — puncture-resistant and non-brittle below zero. Combined with the sealed structure of the Gen-2 / Gen-3 collection bags, it reduces losses at the point of collection.
Do the bags become brittle at sub-zero temperatures?
No. The Qihua-3 film is designed for low-temperature forest conditions and stays flexible below zero — the key difference from general-purpose packaging films.
How do I choose between collection bag and storage bag specifications?
For routine collection, use the Gen-2 sealed self-closing collection bag in 330×450 or 360×450 mm. For higher cleanliness with sterile collection processes, choose the Gen-3 sterile collection bag (330×450 mm). For storage, birch sap sterile storage bags are generally specified from 25 L to 1000 L depending on your processing and transport scale.
How do we roll out "Birch Sap Trace"? What do we need to do?
Three steps: (1) collect your raw material using QC Packaging collection bags; (2) scan the code at collection to record source data (mobile phone is enough); (3) we provide the Sun Code file and printing parameters — you print it on your consumer packaging and shoppers scan it with WeChat. Roll-out can be phased, gradually raising the share of traceable raw material.
What patents protect the collection technology?
Four granted patents form the collection technology moat: portable self-sealing sap bag (ZL 2020 2 0880003.X); sealed self-closing birch sap collection bag with collection needle (ZL 202422526573.X); sealed birch sap collection device (ZL 2024 2 0726594.3); and a tree sap collection structure (invention patent, CN 118844299 B).
