Liquid Fertilizer Drum-Liner Bags Keep Leaking? The Problem May Be in the Film
The Challenge
A fertilizer producer in East China fills 10kg liquid fertilizer into drum-liner bags. The original PE-film liners kept failing: the fertilizer is hot-filled at 50-60℃, and with transport vibration the bags repeatedly leaked - each leak wasted a bag, contaminated the drum and site, and led to compensation disputes.
Leaking drum-liner bags are not an isolated case - while serving liquid fertilizer customers, QC Packaging found that many customers using ordinary PE-film liners had come to us with the same problem.
What We Did
- Liquid fertilizer drum-liner bags (10kg, size customized to the customer's filling): the film was rematched for 50-60℃ hot filling and fertilizer properties, replacing the ordinary PE film - no rupture or deformation under hot filling, written into the supply quality terms.
- Two options - PE liner and QC's fertilizer-grade film liner - so the customer can choose per formulation and filling conditions.
- Details built to the customer's standard: opening ease, antistatic performance, and transparency per approved samples; grammage controlled with no negative deviation across batches.
- Small-batch verification before steady supply, paced with the customer's filling schedule.
The Result
- ✓Cooperation began in 2025; from the first trial batch to ongoing supply, the customer has now entered a steady repeat-order phase - both liner options continue to be supplied per formulation, and repeat orders speak for themselves.
- ✓The solution solved the leaking problem at the source; filling and transport no longer suffer rework from bag failures.
