Protein Powder Three-Side Seal Bags: Multi-Round Sampling to Reach the Customer Validation Line
The Challenge
The customer, a protein-based nutritional powder producer in China, needed moisture-resistant three-side seal bags with dependable performance for its powder products.
Its original powder-bag supplier had shown quality fluctuations, so the customer wanted an additional source whose bags could pass their technical team verification.
Filling powder puts fine demands on the bag: it must stay open and rigid, yet slide smoothly without clinging powder. The customer technical team checks every detail.
What We Did
- Sampling did not pass in one round: early samples were too stiff and lacked anti-static treatment, which blocked the customer powder-filling trial - the technical team sent the samples back.
- We treated each rejection as an improvement list: confirmed the structure of the customer existing bags and their actual filling method, rebalanced the film recipe and added anti-static treatment, so the bag is rigid yet smooth - filling and sealing now run cleanly.
- On cost, we spread bag-making overhead across our high-speed production capacity to bring the unit cost into an acceptable range.
- A new round of sampling has been arranged under the material plan the customer approved, and is now in their validation process.
The Result
- ✓The customer has worked with QC Packaging on aseptic bags over the long term - trusting a new category to the same supplier is itself a vote of confidence in our sampling capability.
- ✓The three-side seal bag program is now in customer validation after several sampling rounds; if it passes, it will open a dependable new supply window for protein powder packaging.
